Less Exposed Land Surface, Less Northeastern Monsoon-induced Sand and Dust Blowing

Every autumn and winter, Yunlin is affected by the northeastern monsoon, smog episodes and poor air quality as a result. In addition to the air pollutants brought in from other places, there are sources of pollution that might be easily overlooked. One example is exposed land surface. Strong winds during the windy seasons pick up dust and sand from the exposed surface and affect air quality.
We hope that land owners or related management will take appropriate protection measures after crops are harvested, by planting green manure crops, sprinkling the land with water, or covering land lots in order to effectively prevent sand and dust from being blown into the air.
