Site management in Yunlin County has notched up another success story! The “Dong Ren Housing”social housing turn-key project in Huwei Township has won a gold award in the non-public works category of the “2024 Good Air Outstanding Business Initiative Awards (好空氣企業優良行動獎)” organized by the Ministry of Environment (MOENV) in a demonstration of Yunlin County’s outstanding performance in site environmental management. To both recognize and promote examples of best practices, the MOENV invited environmental protection agencies from 22 counties and cities throughout the country to gather in Yunlin on 20 November for the “Observation and Construction Affairs Symposium on Site Environmental Management Outstanding Initiative Gold Class Site and Outstanding Site Control in Regional Development (工地環保管理優良行動獎金獎工地及區域開發優良管制工地觀摩暨營建工程業務座談會).” The attendees were also given on-site tours of “Dong Ren Housing” and “Huwei HSR Sports Park (Athletics Field and Warm-up Field) Construction Project” to showcase the two model sites for environmental management.
At the “Dong Ren Housing” site, project manager Feng Yu Construction demonstrated its pioneering smart management model that included: smart mech energy combat intelligence platform, mobile vehicle washing platform, interlinked misting equipment, AI environmental sentinel, and 3D model recognition. These high-tech management solutions not only boosted OSH(Occupational Safety and Health) and environmental management efficiency to improve construction safety, but also demonstrated their corporate commitment to environmental protection.
The other outstanding construction was the “Huwei HSR Sports Park (虎尾高鐵運動園區)” managed by Sinke Construction. Sinke also set a benchmark for environmental protection during large-scale regional development projects that its peers should learn from. Through zoning and effective pollution prevention measures, the site was able to greatly reduce its environmental impact during construction, resulting in both reduced pollution and improved construction efficiency.
According to Director Qiao-Wei Zhang from the Environmental Protection Bureau of Yunlin County, the County Government’s adoption of innovative smart management and strict site supervision measures for pollution management at construction sites has been a success. Yunlin County has been the only local government in Taiwan to have achieved zero defects during central government evaluations for the past five consecutive years in a demonstration of its outstanding abilities in environmental protection during construction. In the future, the County Government will continue to collaborate with builders to deliver environmentally sustainable, high-quality developments and build a habitable environment with “good air, good life” for the public.
