Food Waste Reused for Compost and as Swine Feed

Kitchen waste is a recyclable resource and can be classified into raw and cooked types. The former comes from not-for-food sources, including peels, shells and residues; the latter is food leftovers and can be reused as swine feed. Food waste recycling and reuse can help to dramatically reduce solid waste, lessen the burden of landfill sites and incinerators, and lower the need for artificial fertilizers.
The Bureau reminds you to sort kitchen waste into raw and cooked and pass the waste to garbage collectors at the back of the trucks; you can also make your own compost at home or feed the waste to poultry. Any violation can result in fines of NT1,200- 6,000 dollars.
