Yunlin County Environmental Protection Bureau Promotes Air Pollution Protection Among the General Public and Enhances Crackdowns on Pollution

With the decreased wind speed caused by the high pressure reflux and sea-land breeze circulation, noticeable air pollutant deposition may be observed. It is even harder for air pollutants to disperse in the inland area, lying on the leeward side of the mountains. The PM2.5 indicator in Yunlin County will very likely reach high levels. We suggest that the public stay tuned with the website and cable TV channels for alerts of poor air quality and take measures to reduce exposure. The Bureau calls for compliance with air pollution legislation by all businesses and the public; it will undertake inspections on factories during the day and nighttime, and enhance crackdowns on open burning activities. Any identified violations will be reported and subject to sanctions. Everyone in society should play a part in maintaining good air quality.
